STUDIO 1
Kevina-Jo Smith

I have been away from the studio alot!! in the past 2 months.
I have been re-visiting the world of advertising and music videos..... but mostly working with Helen, so very fun times!

Amongst other things, we had a trip to Bilpin, the land of delicious apples to make a promo ad for Music Max and Strongbow Cider. (can you spot Helen?) We bought home apple pies and fresh apple juice for all....

We worked on a Ministry of Sound commercial, directed by Studio 8's Lucinda Shreiber. Which was shot in Studio 9 at BJB.

We worked on a short film as an advertising agency's party invite... which included shooting a 'passed out Marie Antoinette' in the Botanical Gardens... very funny day.

Also I baked this pie to welcome my boy home from a trip....

See you next year with news of a very exciting and entertaining project.

STUDIO 5
Yeah Yeah

The boys in studio 5 have this month a new addition.. Studio 4.. Yes, were expanding and taking on the world.
We have been flat out the last month in our studios working on a a massive dirty secret that will be unveiled at the start of 2010.... Be sure to keep your eyes open and ears to the ground come 01/01/10...

We've also printed fashion photographer Harold Davids Uniform World Exhibition, which opened at Penrith Regional Gallery. Another exhibition that was running hot off our printer was from BJB's own Cara Stricker, Dancing On My Bed.

Grants been busily working on a retouching site, due to launch early next year, stay tuned, this will be big! Mr Keats has also been busy retouching for one of Sydneys up and coming fashion photographers, Tanja Bruckner.

Tuffy's been kicking ass making mags, zines, flyers, posters, brands, the works..

Last week saw Chris shooting The Brunettes for Groupie Magazine. Check out the February issue for pics and interviews. After jet setting about the place, hes back in sydney undergoing the film development, scanning and editing process from his recent stint in Vietnam & Hong Kong. His 'Memory' project is also gathering momentum, look out for more info in the new year!

From all of us in Studio 4 & 5, have a good Xmas & make sure you own the dance floor this New Years!

STUDIO 6
Greedy Hen

At Greedy Hen we've been busy making a paper diorama for a Josh Pyke music dvd cover.
Nice one!
The diorama was made completely from paper, stick glue, sticky tape, and water colour paint. And the photograph was lit with Katherine's desk lamp.
After the shoot the diorama didn't hold together so well. It now lives smashed to smithereens on our bookshelf, the lighthouse has drooped backwards so that it now rests on the hill side, and the boat has sunk beneath the waves.

This month we've also been arranging a kaleidoscope of budgies and ladies for Domino Records for Animal Collective's Australian tour. Budgies in any context will always be hilarious and awesome.

Greedy Hen also directed, produced, and made some artwork for a film clip for the Washington song 'How To Tame Lions'
Our super talented bestie, photographer Christopher Morris, was the D.O.P.

STUDIO 2
Cara Stricker

Weeks of blurry eyes, taking photos to fill stories of dreams, sleeping through my days and living walking through my sleeps...

I've put together an exhibition on this Thursday the 5th November, for others to join me in this state of dancing through the dots. A big photography exhibition (as tall as me on tippi toes) at Sugarmill Stairwell Gallery (more info on invite above) in conjunction with Abosolute Vodka. A music inspired collection, with Murals by Numskull and Roach, and for THE LAUNCH NIGHT ONLY, the whole top floor will also be decked out in prints, with music by Nicky Night Time, Strickmachine, Strace and Holiday Sidewinder.
Come eat, drink, look, listen, as the images walk off the screen.

STUDIO 3
Trischelle Roberts
Vivian Huynh

This month jumped off for us with This Is Not Art. We bathed in the sights and sounds, and returned with new knowledge, field recordings and bikes. Thank you, TINA, for being amazing once more.

Best performance of October, however, goes to Kirin J. Callinan. His live album recording at the Russian Coachmen was an incredible night. Truly, truly beautiful music. (The food was also good, and much easier to photograph.) Kirin has a zillion dates coming up over the next month, so I'd advise that you see him as many times as humanly possible.

Aside from this excitement, the last month has meant lots of mixing (for the secret recording project previewed last month) and making a couple of aesthetic adjustments to our instruments.

November: a quick welcome home to Vivian before No Art hit the garage for some real, serious recording with Frey Lindsay and Ivan Vizintin, of Ghoul fame. We're also playing a show or two in between, details here.

STUDIO 8
Lucinda Schreiber

No update from me last month as I was over in the US... LA, New York, Portland... dream holiday! This month I've been kept busy directing a TVC for 'Ministry of Sound'. The shoot was a whole lot of fun and incorporated dancing, animation and UV lights and was shot on site in Studio 9. Kevina took some great behind the scenes photos which will be posted next blog update. In the meanwhile, here are some random snaps from my travels...
